The different known laboratory mnethods for the extraction of the nitrates of zirconiumn and hafnium by tributyl phosphate were examined. The preparation of these nitrates has led to the perfection of a simple and economic method of dissolution and chemical purification of a zirconium oxide of technical purity. A study of the technology of extraction columns was undertaken. The results obtained for the extraction of the sulfates of zirconium and hafnium by tributyl phosphate are discussed. (tr-auth)
