A pulsed beam of alpha particles was used to exctte the 261 keV level in /sup 151/Sm through the /sup 148/Nd( alpha ,n gamma ) reaction. This level was found to decay with a 1.4 plus or minus 0.1 mu s half-life to the 65.83, 91.53, 147.9, and 175.38 keV states. As has been found for heavier oddneutron nuclei in this region, this isomeric state is probably the 11/2-STA505! Nilsson orbital. (auth)
