Reaction of metallic zirconium with molten alkali metal chlorides containing their hydroxides (in Russian)

The effect of potassium and sodium hydroxides on the corrosion of zirconium in their molten chlorides was studied. It was shown that corrosion of zirconium is due to the action of the hydroxyl ions. The rate of the process is limited by diffusion of ions in the layer of solid corrosion products. (tr-auth)
