$pi$$sup 0$ and $pi$$sup +$ production with polarized photons in the energy range 1 to 2 GeV

The asymmetry of pi /sup o/ and pi /sup +/ photoproduction from hydrogen was measured. The pi /sup o/-mesons were detected at 130 deg cms with E ranged from 0.9 to 1.65 GeV, and the pi /sup +/-mesons at 40 deg cms with E gamma ranged from 0.9 to 1.2 GeV. The results agree with model predictions of single pion photoproduction in the resonance region using fixed-t dispersion relations. (auth)
