Internal friction in Zr irradiated by neutrons at 77$sup 0$K (in French)

Seven internal friction peaks are found in Zr after neutron irradiation at 77 deg K. The first and second peaks correspond to the free interstitial reorientation and migration at the end of stage I. The elastic dipole created by this interstitial is monoclinic and its complex reorientation gives rise to the frozen free split'' phenomena predicted by Nowick (Anelastic Relaxation in Crystalline Solids (Academic Press, New York, 1972)). This defect disappears by correlated and uncorrelated annihilation after tridimensional migration at the end of stage I. The other peaks correspond either to intrinsic phenomena (interstltial loops, divacancies) or extrinsic processes involving impurity or dislocation. These peaks are not strongly affected by impurities. (auth)
