ARGONNE LOW POWER REACTOR: A PROTOTYPE DIRECT CYCLE BOILING WATER REACTOR PACKAGE PLANT FOR ELECTRIC POWER PRODUCTION AND SPACE HEATING

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4307143

The design and initial performance of a complete facility consisting of a direct cycle boiling water reactor, associated controls and power equipment, constructed at the National Reactor Testing Station by Argonne National Laboratory. The reactor is an enriched uranium-fueled, direct-cycle, water moderated, natural circulation boiling water prototype of package power plants designed to produce electric power (300 kw) and space heating (400 kw) for remote locations.
