CHAPELCROSS POWER STATION

ABS>The Chapelcross nuclear power station will contain four 180 Mw gas- cooled, graphite-moderated reactors of the Calder Hall design and eight 23 Mw turboalternators. The primary purpose of the works is the production of plutonium but it will have a net electrical output of about 140 Mw. The differences in design between Chpelcross and Calder Hall are emphasized. A description of the site and the constnnction progress is given. (W.D.M.)
