LIFETIME OF THE 6.14-Mev 3$sup -$ STATE OF O$sup 16$ BY A RECOIL METHOD

The lifetime of the 6.14-Mev 3/sup -/ state of O/sup 16/ has been measured by means of a recoil technique. The spatial distribution of decays of recoiling O/sup 16/ nuclei, produced by the reaction F/sup 19/(p, alpha /sub 1/)O/ sup 16/*, was studied with a (((((((((U nscannable))))))))))
