EFFECT OF TOTAL-BODY X RADIATION FROM NEAR-THRESHOLD TO TISSUE-LETHAL DOSES ON SMALL-BOWEL EPITHELIUM OF THE RAT. II. CHANGES IN NUCLEIC ACID AND PROTEIN SYNTHESIS IN RELATION TO CELL DIVISION

Journal Article · · Journal of the National Cancer Institute (U.S.) Changed to JNCI, J. Natl. Cancer Inst.
OSTI ID:4299473
>Changes in nucleic acid and protein synthesis produced in the small intestine of the rat following wholebody x irradiation are described. Glycine-N/ sup 15/ was used as a tracer. Quantitative chemical data on radiationinduced changes in the rate of synthesis of protein and nucleic acids are correlated with quantitative biological data obtained under the same experimental conditions.
