Fabrication, irradiation, and testing of plutonium fuels for the Plutonium Decycle Program are described, Work is reported on PuO/sub 2/--U0/sub 2/ , Al --Pu, and graphite -Pu systems. The development of UO/sub 2/ fuel for the program is reviewed. Work is summarized on coolant systems, structural materials, mechanical equipment, and design development. Shielding studies and the plutonium fabrication pilot plant work are described. Chemical, physical, and instrumental research and development are reported for PRP. The production of highly purified uranium for use in the Basic Swelling Studies Program is described. Graphite oxidation and compression strength were studied in connection with the Gas Cooled Central Station Power Beactor Program. Nondestructive testing research is described.
