PHOTODISINTEGRATION OF THE DEUTERON AT 130 Mev

The cross section for photodisintegration is calculated assuming the Siegert theorem to be valid. The neutron and proton wave functions are obtained by integrating the Schrodinger equation. Potentials given by Gammel and Thaler are employed in both the ground state of the deuteron and in the final state. Results for the cross section obtained with retardation differ only slightly from those in which it is neglected. Final results for the cross section give a value slightly smaller than the experimental one but do not seem to indicate that a modification in the radiative interaction is necessary. (auth)
