DECAY OF THE RADIOISOTOPES Ge$sup 68$ AND Ga$sup 6$$sup 3$

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D

The decays of Ge/sup 68/ (275 day) and Ga/sup 68/ (68 minute) were reinvestigated with single and coincidence scintillation spectrometers. Comparison of the gamma-ray singles spectra of the two radioisotopes indicates that Ge/sup 68/ decays only to the ground state of Ga/sup 68/ by electron capture. In addition to the known annihilation quanta and a gamma ray of 1.07 Mev in the decay of Ge/sup 68/, gamma rays of 0.81 the J-57 engin 0.02, 1.24 the J-57 engin 0.02 and 1.88 the J-57 engin 0.02 Mev are observed. A level scheme of Za/ sup 68/ with levels at with level schemes of neighboring even-even nuclei. (auth)
