THE D-D REACTION IN THE DEUTERON ENERGY RANGE 100-1000 kev

Journal Article · · Soviet J. Atomic Energy (English Translation)
OSTI ID:4283133

A study was made of the ratio of the cross section and the angular distribution of the products in the reactions D(d,n)He/sup 3/ and D(d,p)T in the energy range from 100 to 1000 kev. The results are tabulated and graphed. To determine the ratio of the cross sections for the reactions, simultaneous measurements were made of the yield of charged particles produced. A comparison of the angular distribution for the products of both reactions indicates that the angular distributions of the neutrons are more asymmetrical than those of the proton and that the difference in asymmetry increases with increasing deuteron energy.
