MASS DISTRIBUTION IN FISSION
Technical Report

The mass distribution was measured for resonances in U/sup 233/ and U/ sup 235/. In U/sup 235, the mass distributions associated with both the epithermal region and the 8.9 ev resonance of the fission cross section spectrum show an increase in the amount of symmetrical fission is compared with the thermal neutron distribution of about 35%. The epithermal region of U/sup 233/ shows also an increase in this quantity, although it is much smaller, barely 10%. Finally, the mass distribution for the resonance at 1.8 ev of U/sup 233/ is the same within the experimental accuracy as the one for the thermal region. (auth)
