DERIVATION OF THE MEAN NUMBER OF SECONDARY NEUTRONS PER FISSION FROM THE MASS DISTRIBUTION OF THE PRODUCTS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Atomnaya Energ.
OSTI ID:4200362
>An evaluation is made of the order of error in the method for calculating the mean number of secondary neutrons nu -bar by fission product mass distribution curves. It is shown that in cases where these curves are well studied the nu -bar can be determined with satisfactory accuracy. Calculations are made of -- nu for Th/sup 232/, U/sup 233/, U/sup 235/, U/sup 238/, Pu/sup 239/, Am/sup 241/, and Cf/sup 252/. The obtained data are analyzed and correlated with data obtained by other methods. Partial magnitudes nu -bar/sub m/ were derived for U/sup 233/ and U/sup 235/ fission by thermal neutrons. (tr- auth)
