THE NEUTRON YIELD FROM INELASTIC COLLISIONS BETWEEN NUCLEI AND 14-Mev NEUTRONS AND THE CROSS SECTIONS OF THE (n,2n) REACTIONS (in Russian)

The yield of neutrons from neutron inelastic interactions with the natural isotopic compositions of Bi, Cd. Cu, Fe, Hg, Mo, Pb, Sb, Sn, and U was measured. Measurements were made by determining ihe relative changes in total neutron flux and the attenuation of primary neutrons after their passage through the specimens. The magnitudes obtained for cross sections sigma /sub in/ in inelastic interactions with nuclei of the above materials and the known magnitudes for neutron capture cross sections were used in calculations of the average (according to the isotopic content) cross sections for (n,2n) reactions.
