A survey' is presented on the dangers of nuclear reactors. The eight known past accidents are reviewed and discussed wlth respect to the posslbillty of a slmllar accident occurring on a power reactor. A brief study is made of a theoretically possibie, but practically impossible, accident. It is concluded that the possibility of lnjury or death resulting from the lndustrial exploitatlon of nuclear energy is very low. (J.S.R.)
