PRECISION STUDIES ON THE DETERMINATION OF NITROGEN IN ZIRCONIUM AND ZIRCALOY

The chemical analysis of nitrogen in zirconium and zirconium alloys is routinely performed at various sites. In an attempt to measure and possibly improve the accuracy and precision of this determination, a study was made of ammonia analyses using both micro and macro distillation apparatus. Recovery data are shown for variations in the chemical procedure as they affect the accuracy and precision of the determination. (auth)
