THE DETERMINATION OF NITROGEN IN NIOBIUM AND NIOBIUM ALLOYS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4103987
The sample is dissolved by heating with sulfuric acid and potassium sulfate. The resulting solution is made basic with sodium hydroxide solution, and the nitrogen removed as ammonia by distillation is collected in standard acid and determined titrimetrically. The procedure was used to determine nitrogen in powders, chips, and solid pieces of niobium metal and various alloys of niobium. (auth)
