Alpha-emitttng metals must be handled in an air-tight enclosure, where a constant depression is maintained. Boxes with certain faces made of plexiglas, on which are fixed gloves for manipulations inside the box, are used for this purpose. Many devices were used for making up the framework of the box and for ensuring the solidity of the joint between this framework and the plexiglas windows. (auth)
