SPARK COUNTER FOR SLOW NEUTRONS

A spark counter, which registers slow neutrons, has a cathode made of a copper plate covered with boron and an anode of six wires 0.08 mm in diameter, stretched at a distance of 1.5 mm above the plate. The plateau of the counter ior neutron registration is approximately 1,000 volts. The center of the plateau is near 4500 volts. The counter efficiency is approximately 0.01% of slow neutrons incident on the cathode.
