Effects of the original uranium composition, conditions of precipitation temperature, and thermal disintegration time on the dimensions and composition of U/sub 2/O/sub 8/ are studied. Microstructures and diffraction patterns of U/sub 2/O/sub 8/ prepared from ammonium diurante, uranyl nitrate, and uranium peroxide calcinated it 1100 C are presented. (R.V.J.)
