The Oxidizing of the Paraffins under the Action of Gamma Radiation; OXYDATION DE LA PARAFFINE TECHNIQUE ROUMAINE SOUS L'EFFET DES RADIATIONS DU Co$sup 6$$sup 0$

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4269262
A study was made of the effects of gamma radiation on the oxidizing reaction in various types of paraffins. The oxidiation experiments were made at normal pressure and at temperatures between 130 and 150 deg C. The optimum dose for initiating oxidation was determined. The kinetics of the reaction were studied. The separation of the reaction products, variation in the conversion percentage with the dose, and methods of determining the relation between the dose and speed of reaction were also investigated. Particular attention was given to the low-volatility reaction products. The economic aspects of the reaction were also considered. (J.S.R.)
