THE STUDY OF SPATIAL AND ENERGETIC DISTRIBUTION OF NEUTRONS IN VARIOUS MEDIA

The neutron space-energy distributions in graphite, boron carbidc, iron, water, and 6 iron--water mixtures were studied. Measurements were carried out up to thickness of about 10 to 15 neutron free path lengths. A method of calculation was developed for space-energy distributions in inelastically scattering media. The elastic scattering anisotropy was taken into account when the neutron free path was an enerpy function. (W.D.M.)
