THE PASSAGE OF FAST NEUTRONS THROUGH LEAD AND IRON (in Russian)

Results are presented from measurements made of the spatial distribution of fast neutrons in lead and iron from monoenergetic neutron sources (E/sub 0/ = 4 and 14.9 Mev) and from fission. A kinetic equation for neutron attenuating media is used for calculating the spatial energy distributions of fast neutrons at large distances from the source. The anisotropy of elastic scattering is evaluated. The neutron energy losses in elastic scattering are neglected. (tr- auth)
