REVIEW OF PULSED NEUTRON SOURCES FOR NEUTRON SPECTROMETERS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4260836
The description of some new designs of mechanical choppers for use in reactors is presented together with a comparison of their characteristics. A brief description of a thermal neutron monochromator with increased aperture is given. New results are reported concerning the methods of obtaining the short neutron pulses in a cyclotron by means of deflection of the beam onto an internal target. Methods of increasing of neutron spectrometer resolving power are discussed. (auth)
