*SUP 115/Cd ISOMER YIELD RATIOS FROM DEUTERON FISSION OF *SUP 238/U AND FROM THE *SUP 118/Sn(d,*cap alpha/p), *SUP 118/Sn(n,*cap alpha/), *SUP 115/In(d,2p), *SUP 115/In(n,p), AND *SUP 114/Cd(d,p) REACTIONS FROM 10 TO 25 Mev

The isomer yield ratio of Cd/sup 15m/(11/2-)to Cd/sup 115/ (1/2+) has been investigated for the reactions U/sup 238/(d,f), Sn/sup 118/ (d, alpha p) and (n, alpha ), In/sup 115/(d,2p) and (n,p), and Cd/sup 114/(d,p) from 10 to 25 Mev. The results are discussed in terms of several spin important mechanisms. The minimum in the isomer yield ratio vs. energy for U/sup 238/(d,f) is consistent with a proposal involving increased fission barrier penetration for high-spin compound nuclei in symmetric fission at low excitation energies.
