The design basis is given for the fuel handling and decay storage facility. The units to be handled include the core and blanket subassemblies, the control rods, the neutron source, and the suveillance specimens. The handling operations include receiving of new units, inspection before irradiation, inspection after irradiation, radioactive decay in a pool of water, disposal of waste material, and the shipment of radioactive material from the plant site.
