An investigation was made to determine to what extent a nonspherical nuclei structure could be explained in the shell model with deformable oscillation potential with consideration of nucleon--nucleon interaction and configuration mixtures. Deformations which lie in the range expected from quadrupole moment measurements appeared in the nuclei Li/sup 6/, Li/sup 7/, Be/ sup 9/, and N/sup 14/. An improvement of the value of the quadrupole moments over earlier calculations was obtained. (tr-auth)
