A review is presented of the major toxicological data concerning fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, uranium hexafluoride, and certain other fluorides. Major characteristics of the four groups of fluorine compounds and their fate in the body are summarized. Types of injuries caused by various fluorine compounds are discussed. Medical information on toxicological and therapeutic aspects of fluorine hazards is given. (C.J.G.)
