THE ABSORPTIOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF CHROMIUM IN URANIUM-VANADIUM ALLOYS

The U-V is dissolved in HNO/sup 3/ and the Cr oxidized to the hexavalent state by KMnO/sup 4/. Excess KMnO/sub 4/ is removed by EDTA. The Cr is determined spectrophotometrically using diphenylcarbazide after the V color fades. The method is suitable for Cr contents up to 0.2%.(T.R.H.)
