The measurement of a constant magnetic field with an accuracy of 10/sup - 4/ to 10/sup -5/ may be reduced to frequency measurement by the use of paramagnetic resonance absorption. The resonant freqency is nu = gamma / pi B/sub 0/, where gamma proton = 2 pi x 2.804 x l0/sup 6/ sec gauss and gamma electron = 2 pi x 2.804 x l0/sup 6/ sec gauss. Two simple methods are discribed for the measurement of magnetic fields, one of them using thc proton resonancc absorption in the radiofrequency region for fields of 200 to 20,000 gauss. the other using the paramagnetic electron resonance absorption to the microwave frequency region for fields of 100 to 3000 gauss.
