The method of determining the mass of a charged particle from its scattering and residual range in multiplate cloud chambers is experimentally checked by using it for determining the masses of protons and ic and The effects of mesons identified independently (from momentumrange data). The proton and ic - and The effects of -meson masses derivcd from the corresponding multiple Coulomb scattering curves are in good agreement with the correct values. (auth)
