A 4 The effects of studied. The proportional counter was used to measure the half life of Pb/sup 210/. A purified source was arranged so that all emitted radiation was absorbed except the beta radiation from Bi/sup 210/. Activity measurements were carried on for 5 years. The data yielded a value of 23.30 years. (J.R.D.)
