THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE AND DENSITY OF CERIUM HYDRIDES (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Neorg. Khim.

The structure and density of cerium hydrides of CeH/sub o/ CeH/sub 3/ composition were studied. Two phases were present in metallic cerium and its dihydrides (Ce--CeH/sub 2). A negligible change in the lattice period from 5.55 A to 5.53 A for CeH/sub 2.73/ was observed for CeH/sub 2/- CeH/sub 2/. The cerium hydride density curve is at its minimum for dihydrides. Further saturation with hydrogen only slightly increases the density. (R.V.J.)
