IONIZATION CHAMBERS FOR REACTOR OPERATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4247326
The developmert of boron-coated ionization chambers used in the measurement of neutron, neutron-gamma, and gamma fluxes at the Brookhaven National Laboratory reactors is described. Neutron sensitivities of 6-5 x 10/sup -15/ to 3 x 10/sup -14/ amp/nviis with corresponding gamma sensitivities of 3.2 x 10/sup -12/ to 1.8 x 10/sup -12/ amp/r/ hr are obtained with polarizing voltages of 110 to 350 volts.
