A PROGRAMME FOR CALCULATING THE GAMMA RAY FLUX THROUGH A MULTILAYER SHIELD
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4245933
A program in autocode for the Ferranti Mercury Computer is described. It is designed to calculate the gamma ray flux due to a distributed source in a multilayered shield in plane geometry. Up to 43 different shield regions may be included and each of these may contain up to a maximum of 144 mesh intervals. Build up of low energy gamma photons is treated by means of an average build-up factor expressed in the Taylor form. The output may be chosen to be gamma dose rate or rate of energy deposition.
