HAZARDS IN CONTEMPORARY WORK WITH RADIOLUMINESCENT SUBSTANCES (in Czech)

Journal Article · · Pracovni lekarstvi
OSTI ID:4245899
The type and extent of hazards associated at present with work with radioluminescent substances were investigated. Comprehensive methods were used which made it possible to obtain a direct relationship between the type and amount of radioactive substance and the hazard to the health of the workers. The present work is the first report on an accurate investigation of departments working with radioactive substances. The result of these investigations is the immediate elimination of shortcomings, a better technical training of the workers involved (from the aspect of protection against radiation), and more detailed information regarding the types and extent of various hazards. New standards will be prepared to obtain optimal protection from ionizing radiation in the different industrial and other branches involved. (auth)
