The sample of u/sub 3/O/sub 8 is mixed with 5% of its weight of sodium fluoride. One hundred-mg charges of the mixraphite cup and excited in a d-c arc at 12 amperes when the sodium fluoride distils accompanied by the aluminum. The arc is aligned with a large quartz spectrograph, and the resultant spectra tometor, Standard curves are obtained from standard samples spectrographed on the same plate. (auth)
