ON TRANSITION RADIATION AND THE VAVILOV-CHERENKOV RADIATION (in Russian)

The angular distribution of the radiation emitted by a charged particle passing through the boundary between vacuum and an isotropic ferrodielectric and between vacuum and a dielectric crystal is considered. It is shown that the radiation significantly depends on the sign of the group velocity. Transition radiation is considered in connection with those peculiarities of the Vavilov- Cherenkov radiation which occur in crystals and also in isotropic media in the frequency range with a negative group velocity. The reversed'' Doppler effect is considered. (auth)
