THE DETERMINATION OF NICKEL IN ZIRCONIUM AND IN ZIRCALOY 2

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4235445
The sample is dissolved in hydrofluoric acid, and after removing the fluoride ion, the nickel dimethylglyoxime complex is formed. This is extracted into chloroform and the nickel back extracted into hydrochloric acid. The oxidized nickel dimethylglyoxime complex is formed, and the nickel is determined absorptiometrically. The method is suitable for the determination of 1 to 1000 ppm of nickel. Except at the lower levels the error should not exceed plus or minus 5%. (auth)
