ACTIVITY OF THE ATMOSPHERE CAUSED BY KRYPTON-85 (in French)

Journal Article · · Bull inform. sci. et tech. (Paris)
OSTI ID:4233950
Krypton-85, a beta emitting gas with a period of 10.4 years, is injected into the atmosphere during nuclear explosion and treatment of irradiated fuel elements. The air activity from Kr/sup 85/ was measured with a kryptonfilled proportional counter. The activity reached 1. 9 x 10/sup -12/ c/m/sup 3/ of air during July 1958. An increase of the order of 3.5 was found between 1954 and 1958. (tr-auth)
