THE CONSTITUTION DIAGRAM OF Th-Zr ALLOY (in Russian)
At high temperatures, BETA /sub Th/ and BETA /sup Zr/ form a continuous series of solid solutions with a body-centered (cubic) lattice. With rapid 1000 tempering, the body-centered lattice holds in alloys with 73.93 to 77.50 at.% Zm; in other alloys the cubic lattice changes into face-centered alpha /sub Th/- The alloy with 40 to 70 at.% Zr disintegrates into two solid solutions with face-centered alpha /sub Th/ and alpha '/sub Th/. At 945 and 54 at.% Zr the solid solution undergoes disintegration into two solutions with different zirconium conteat. At 920 and 40 at.% Zr BETA /sub 2/ alpha /sub Th/ + BETA /sub 2/; alpha /s ub Th/ contains 14 at.% Zr while the BETA /sub 2/ has 69.5 at.% Zr. At 920 to 1380 the solid solution alpha /sub Th/ with a face-centered lattice is separated from the thorium-zirconium with a body-centered lattice by two-phase region ( alpha /sub Th/ + BETA /sub 1/).
