A SIMPLE METHOD TO ALIGN THE PELLICLES OF A NUCLEAR EMULSION STACK

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4233716
A method for following tracks of ionizing particles from one pellicle to another through an emulsion stack is described. By use of this method, the lack of precision inherent to mechanical devices can be avoided as well as that resulting from pellicle deformation. The method is based on the use of negative grids (transparent lines and figures on a black background) printed on stripping films which are handled in such a way that two facing portions of the pellicles have the same grid in exact correspondence printed on them.
