DECAY SCHEME OF Bi$sup 210$ ISOMER (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Eksptl'. i Teoret. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4223586

A decay scheme is developed for Bi/sup 210m/. The energy of RaE alpha decay into Tl/sup 260/ is Q/sub alpha /= 5064 plus or minus l5 kev with Tl/sup 206/ E/sub BETA max/ = (15l0 plus or minus l0) kev. The total alpha - decay energy of long life isomer of Bi/sup 210/, considering nuclear recoil and gamma yield is Q alpha / = (5286 plus or minus 15) kev, or 220 kev larger than the RaE alpha decay. It is assumed that with RaE T 1/2 = 5.01 decay the B/sup 210/ is in the ground state, with T 1/2 = 2.6 x 10/sup 6/ years it is metastable. The partial life time of Bi/sup 210/ in relation to the electromagnetic transition T/sub gamma / was estimated by the accumulation of Pu/sup 210/ in series disintegration through RaE. The intensity of the Po/sup 210/ alpha line, 5300 kev <0.01%, corresponds to T/sub gamma / > 10/sup 10/ years. (R.V.J.)
