Relative intensities of 14 gamma rays following the decay of Bi/sup 206/ and 11 gamma rays from the decay of Bi/sup 206/ were measured by the method of external conversion in uranium. From additional measurements of the internal conversion lines from the same source (or from a source of known relative source strength) the Kconversion coefficients of these gamma transitions were determined absolutely with an accuracy varying between 10 and 50%. The multi-polarity assignments based on these values are in most cases in agreement with those suggested from scintillation spectra and internal conversion-line spectra. Further support of the excited state of 2566.5 kev in Pb/sup 205/ was found from the detection of the K- and L-conversion lines of a 2567.8 plus or minus 2.0 kev transition. The K-conversion line of a 2610.0 plus or minus 2.0 kev gamma ray was detected suggesting an excited state of this energy. (auth)
