SHORT-TIME CREEP-RUPTURE BEHAVIOR OF MOLYBDENUM AT HIGH TEMPERATURES

Journal Article · · Trans. Met. Soc. AI,E
OSTI ID:4209693
The creep-rupture behavior of a powder-metallurgy molybdenum rod is reported in the temperature range 1600 to 1500 deg C, at stresses up to 9000 psi and times up to 1 month. The effects of temperature, stress, and grain growth are discussed. Rupture time is fitted to the Larson-Miller parameter and compared to lower-temperatare and higherstress results reported by Pugh.
