The ball safety device mock-up was tested with the original type hopper gate and with the hinged hopper gate. With the original hopper gate and 44.l lbs of balls, the thimble is fall in 10.55 sec. With the hinged hopper gate with 36 lbs of balls, the thimble fills in 8.l see. (auth)
