THE CALIBRATION OF FLOW IONISATION CHAMBERS FOR TRITIUM MONITORING IN AIR

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4201473
A stream of air of knowu tritium (HTO) concentration is obtained by mixing dry air and air saturated with HTO vapor in knowu proportions. This was used to calibrate ion chambers for the monitoring of tritium in air. Particular attention is paid io the 1590A, a chamber designed at A.E.R.E. Harwell, and limitations in its use as an air monitor due to adsorption of HTO are briefly discussed. (auth)
