THE NATURE OF THE CUBIC PHASES OF THE ZrO$sub 2$-La$sub 2$$O$$sub 3$ SYSTEM (in French)

The ZrO/sub 2/-La/sub 2/O/sub 3/ system was studied between room temperature and 2800 deg C. The formation of a stable nonstoichiometric compound of the La/sub 2/Zr/sub 2/O/sub 7/ pyrochlore type was found, and the limits of its range of homogeneity were determined. For compositions remote from the stoichiometric composition La/sub 2/Zr/sub 2/O/sub 7/, a cubic phase of the "stabilized zirconium oxide" type appears which is stable at high temperature. (tr-auth)
